Materials
The cushion, E1 standard wood material used in its skeleton and plyboard used in table supports are 100% reusable. The metal feet are 100% recyclable. Fabrics with TREVIRA CS, OEKO-TEX 100 STANDARD, IMO-MED, RECYCLABLE and EU ECOLABEL Certificates are used in Hi & Lo’s upholstery. The fabrics used passed the abrasion resistance (Martindale test), light fastness (EN ISO 105-B02), fastness to rubbing (EN ISO 105-X12) and fire resistance tests; in conformity with European norms.
Production
Hi & Lo is manufactured at Numaş A.Ş. facilities, which holds the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standard and OHSAS 18001 Health and Safety Management System Standard certificates.
Waste Management
At Numaş A.Ş., the waste chemical materials like powder paint, wet paint, thinner, chemical material packaging, phosphate sludge and laser dust are sent to relevant companies for recycling or are disposed in a manner that will not harm the environment.
Transport
Hi & Lo’nun packaging is made with 100% recyclable material. The product packaging size is minimal, to decrease energy use during transportation.
Use
The quality standards of Hi & Lo’s manufacturing and material, allow the product to have a long life. International bodies certify its high level of product security.
End of Life
The materials used in the manufacturing of Hi & Lo may be re-used or recycled at the end of its product life.
İnci Mutlu
Born in Ankara in 1972, İnci Mutlu graduated from the Industrial Design Department of METU. After finishing her Master’s Degree at Hacettepe University, she attended many workshops at the Domus Academy in Milan. She worked as a freelance designer in Istanbul between 1998 and 2000 and worked at Isao Hosoe Design Studio for a while.
After her move to Milan, Mutlu cofounded Mutlu & Milano Design Studio with Luca Milano. Some of the her clients include Koziol, Jongform, Next Edition, Faber, Restonic, Vitra Eczacıbaşı, Vitra Karo, Nurus, Handles, Hisar, Manul and Beko/Arçelik.
